bluff bet sizing at lower stakes is very player dependent ime. I find that regs typically try to size their river bluffs to look like a value bet (2/3-3/4 pot) and they make their river value bets very big, or overbet, trying to make it look like a bluff.

some ppl whom I believe are strong players associate the pot sized bet with value from a fish. I think that's a default line of thinking and pry correct unless you have a read like rawl did. something else to consider from rawl's QQ hand is that because the board paired the top card on the river it's less likely he has an A in his hand so it leans this toward a call. if the river hadn't paired the A and he potted it I'd be more inclined to fold; but may still call depending on read.

ost's call w/ JJ isn't really a 'hero' call but I wouldn't call it standard either because I believe fish get scared of monotone boards. since they're always chasing the flush and playing suited cards their river value betting range is extremely narrow. this is of course assuming villain in that hand is a fish lol.

wanted to bold that. I don't think I am calling the river if it didn't pair. actually, maybe I am, I'm not sure. it definitely had a big impact though.

I don't know why, but everytime i play on pokerstars, I get killed. I can't flop a fucking set. I played like 1500 hands today and I flopped 1 set in a blind vs blind. If I get Q's, I get 3 callers and the flop comes AK. I fucking hate stars. yes, I'm fucking tilted and need to stop playing. I only started because I have a $125 bonus leftover to grind. losing 3 buyins sucks.

so my first weekend I dedicated to NL, I did really well. I was killing the game at an absurd rate (something like 20 bb/100). I know this wouldn't last.

However, when I ran cold, I didn't take it well. I got into a few set over set situation, then whenever I had aces, all I'd win was the blinds, I felt like I'd miss every flop, etc. I started tilting and when you play like 8 tables, it's not good.

overall, I'm still up, but I just wanted to comment. I think I was winning too easy at the start, and when I ran a little cold, I didn't handle it well. I guess I should just keep my chin up and be patient right?

Any other advice?

also, on HEM, how do I group usernames into one? It's kind of a pain to see all my hands from all my websites separately.

I know the feeling. I lost $900 the other day 4 tabling 1/2. I'll say that 2/3 of that was just I was getting crushed. If I had a set, someone had a bigger one. I missed every draw and was getting killed. Then the tilt factor when you are multitabling sucks when you are getting hosed. So then I proceeded to give away from money at that point. It was a bad day to say the least but I recovered slightly the next day being up $700, then losing $200 in a later session. SUCKS but you got to be able to handle the swings, but this is why I'm glad I don't do it for my living

I have no idea ... I would recommend posting HEM questions on the HM forums. Not because no one here will help you but because they are faster and will have every answer.

go to Options > Player Aliases > Add Alias (whatever you want your Alias to be) > Add player(s) (all your screen names from different sites) > close.

if you want to view stats for your Alias go to 'Change' the player you want to view and type in your Alias name and choose it.

I would like opinions on this hand. I know 80BB's is a lot to get in with AK preflop. He had just sat down, no read on him, no prior notes.

In a word, standard. I'd ship it with AKs too. once you 3 bet him and then he raises the ungodly amount, had to figure you were good there.

How suprised were you to see him flip over KQ though?

shocked. I thought I'd most likely be flipping, chance of AQ, chance I'm dead to KK/AA.

That's the purpose of my post. Is that a poor call for so many BB's?

hmmm, i wouldn't go as far as saying poor. With no info on the player, maybe a little. But there's not too many people that would give that hand up. Only two hands he could have that would crush you. But, you are racing more often that you are dominating the other player in any given situation, that's for sure.

Rawl, super standard. unless you have reads on him that he plays 7/5, you're getting it in. Everytime.
